Bishop Mykhajlo Sabryha, C.SS.R., Bishop of Ternopil-Zboriv (Ukrainian), Ukraine, has died. He served as a bishop for 19 years and a priest for 32 years. May he rest in peace.

Nieto Guerra and Pérez Caicedo named Guayaquil Auxiliaries

Bishop-elect Aníbal Nieto Guerra, O.C.D. and Bishop-elect Marco Pérez Caicedo were named Auxiliary Bishops of Guayaquil, Ecuador and titular bishops of Tuscania and Traiectum ad Mosam, respectively.

Bishop-elect Pérez Caicedo will become the world's youngest bishop at his ordination. He will turn 39 in just over a month. Bishop Bohdan Dzyurakh, C.SS.R., the previous youngest bishop, is about 4 months older.

Archbishop-designate Osvino José Both was named Archbishop of the Brazil Military Ordinariate. The position had been vacant since the death of Archbishop Geraldo do Espírito Santo Ávila in November, 2005. Archbishop-designate Both had been serving as Bishop of Novo Hamburgo.

Bishop Pius Mlungisi Dlungwana was named Bishop of Mariannhill, South Africa. The diocese has been vacant since Bishop Paul Themba Mngoma resigned in February 2005 (he died a few months later). Bishop Dlungwana had been serving as an Auxiliary Bishop of the same diocese.
