Nepal elevated to Vicariate, Sharma remains Ordinary

The Prefecture Apostolic of Nepal was elevated to the Vicariate Apostolic of Nepal. Bishop-elect Anthony Francis Sharma, S.J. remains its ordinary now with the title of Vicar Apostolic and he was also named titular bishop of Gigthi.

Thottunkal confirmed as Trivandrum (Malankarese) Major Archbishop

Major Archbishop-designate Isaac Mar Cleemis Thottunkal was confirmed as Major Archbishop of Trivandrum (Malankarese), India. The Archdiocese had been vacant since the death of Major Archbishop Cyril Baselios Malancharuvil, O.I.C. in January 2007. Major Archbishop-designate Thottunkal had been serving as Archbishop of Tiruvalla (Malankarese).
