Slovakia (Byzantine) Reorganization

The Eparchy of Prešov (Prjašev) was elevated to a metropolitan Archdiocese. Bishop Ján Babjak, S.J., the ordinary, was named its first Archbishop.

The Exarchate of Košice was elevated to a Diocese. Bishop Milan Chautur, C.SS.R., the ordinary, was named its first Bishop.

The Diocese of Bratislava was erected and Bishop-elect Peter Rusnák was named its first Bishop.

The two new Dioceses become suffragans of the new Archdiocese.

Tong Hon named Hong Kong [Xianggang] Coadjutor

Bishop John Tong Hon was named Coadjutor Bishop of Hong Kong [Xianggang], China. Bishop Tong Hon had been serving as an Auxiliary Bishop of the same diocese.
