Archbishop-designate Ahiwa had been serving as Auxiliary Bishop of the same Archdiocese.

The Diocese of Bentiu, South Sudan was erected with territory taken from Malakal and made a suffragan of Juba.

Bishop Christian Carlassare, M.C.C.I. was named its first bishop. He had been serving as Bishop of Rumbek.

Dubiel named Angola Nuncio

Archbishop-elect Kryspin Witold Dubiel was named Apostolic Nuncio to Angola and titular archbishop of Vannida.

The post had been vacant since Archbishop Giovanni Gaspari was named Apostolic Nuncio to Korea in March 2024.
