Erected: Azcapotzalco, Iztapalapa, and Xochimilco

The Diocese of Azcapotzalco, Diocese of Iztapalapa, and Diocese of Xochimilco were created with territory taken from the Archdiocese of México. All three are suffragans of México.

Bishop Adolfo Miguel Castaño Fonseca was named Bishop of Azcapotzalco, México.

Bishop Jesús Antonio Lerma Nolasco was named Bishop of Iztapalapa, México.

Bishop Andrés Vargas Peña was named Bishop of Xochimilco, México.

All three had been serving as Auxiliary Bishops of México.

Toluca elevated to Archdiocese, Chavolla Ramos named Archbishop

The Diocese of Toluca was elevated to the Archdiocese of Toluca.

Francisco Javier Chavolla Ramos was named its first Archbishop. He had been serving as bishop of the same jurisdiction.

The dioceses of Atlacomulco, Cuernavaca, and Tenancingo were made suffragans of the new Archdiocese.

Armendáriz Jiménez named Durango Archbishop

Archbishop-designate Faustino Armendáriz Jiménez was named Archbishop of Durango, México.

The archdiocese had been vacant since Archbishop José Antonio Fernández Hurtado was named Archbishop of Tlalnepantla in January 2019.

Archbishop-designate Armendáriz Jiménez had been serving as Bishop of Querétaro.

Ganci named Permanent Observer to Council of Europe

Marco Ganci was named Permanent Observer to Council of Europe.

The post had been vacant since Bishop-elect Paolo Rudelli was named an Apostolic Nuncio earlier this month.

Vu Huy Chuong retired, Nguyên Văn Manh succeeded as Ðà Lạt Bishop

Bishop Antoine Vu Huy Chuong retired and Bishop Dominic Nguyên Văn Manh succeeded as Bishop of Ðà Lạt, Viet Nam.

Bishop Nguyên Văn Manh had been serving as Coadjutor Bishop of the same diocese.

The diocese of Díli was elevated to the Archdiocese of Díli, Timor-Leste.
Archbishop Virgilio do Carmo da Silva, S.D.B. was serving as Bishop and is elevated to an Archbishop.

Sartain resigned, Etienne succeeded as Seattle Archbishop

Archbishop James Peter Sartain resigned and Archbishop Paul Dennis Etienne succeeded as Archbishop of Seattle, Washington, USA.

Archbishop Etienne had been serving as Coadjutor Archbishop of the same archdiocese.

Borgia, Camilleri, and Rudelli named Apostolic Nuncios

Archbishop-elect Paolo Borgia, Archbishop-elect Antoine Camilleri, and Archbishop-elect Paolo Rudelli were all named Apostolic Nuncios with countries to be announced later and titular archbishops of Milazzo, Skálholt, and Mesembria, respectively.
