Bishop Joannes Baptist Matthijs Gijsen retired and Bishop Pierre Bürcher was named Bishop of Reykjavik, Iceland. Bishop Bürcher had been serving as an Auxiliary Bishop of Lausanne, Genève et Fribourg (Freiburg), Switzerland.
