Archbishop Floribert Songasonga Mwitwa resigned and Archbishop Jean-Pierre Tafunga Mbayo, S.D.B. succeeded as Archbishop of Lubumbashi, Congo (Dem. Rep.).

Archbishop Tafunga Mbayo had been serving as Coadjutor Archbishop of the same archdiocese.
