Santa Maria, Brazil elevated to Archdiocese, Rubert named Archbishop

The Archdiocese of Santa Maria, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil was elevated from a diocese of the same name. Archbishop-designate Hélio Adelar Rubert was named its first Archbishop.

He had been serving as Bishop of the same diocese.
