The post had been vacant since Archbishop Bruno Musarò was named Apostolic Nuncio to Cuba in August 2011.
Archbishop Green had been serving as Apostolic Nuncio to South Africa, to Nambia, to Botswana, to Lesotho, and to Swaziland.
