Robert Cardinal Sarah was named Prefect of the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments.
The post had been vacant since Antonio Cardinal Cañizares Llovera was named Archbishop of Valencia, Spain in August 2014.
Cardinal Sarah had been serving as President of the Pontifical Council “Cor Unum”.
