Anchorage united with Juneau, Bellisario named Archbishop

The Archdiocese of Anchorage and the Diocese of Juneau were merged to create the Archdiocese of Anchorage-Juneau.

Archbishop-designate Andrew Eugene Bellisario, C.M. was named its first ordinary.

He had been serving as Bishop of Juneau.
