Archbishop Terrence Thomas Prendergast, S.J. retired and Archbishop Marcel Damphousse succeeded as Archbishop of Ottawa-Cornwall, Ontario, Canada.

Archbishop Damphousse had been serving as Coadjutor Archbishop of the same archdiocese.
