Archbishop Joseph Perumthottam retired and Archbishop-designate Thomas (Tomy) Joseph Tharayil was confirmed as Archbishop of Changanacherry (Syro-Malabar), India.
Archbishop-designate Tharayil had been serving as Auxiliary Bishop of the same archdiocese.
