Archbishop-elect Santiago Agrelo Martínez, O.F.M. was named Archbishop of Tanger, Morocco. The archdiocese had been vacant since the resignation of Archbishop José Antonio Peteiro Freire, O.F.M. in March 2005.

Archbishop Jacqueline Died

Archbishop Bernard Henri René Jacqueline, Apostolic Pro-Nuncio Emeritus to Morocco and Titular Archbishop of Abbir Maius, has died. He was 2 weeks shy of his 89th birthday. He has served as a priest for almost 63 years and as a bishop for 24 years. May he rest in peace.
