Garland resigned, Sample named Marquette Bishop

Bishop James Henry Garland resigned and Bishop-elect Alexander King Sample was named Bishop of Marquette, Michigan, USA. Bishop Garland has been serving as a bishop for 21 years and as a priest for 46 years. Today is also Bishop Garland's 74th birthday. Bishop-elect Sample had been serving as a priest of the same diocese.
