Erected: Awgu, Nigeria; named Okoye Bishop
The diocese of Awgu, Nigeria was erected with territory taken from the diocese of Enugu. Bishop-elect John Ifeanyichukwu Okoye was named as its first bishop. He had been serving as a priest of Enugu.
