Bishop Victor de la Peña Pérez, O.F.M. resigned and Bishop Juan Tomás Oliver Climent, O.F.M. was succeeded him as Vicar Apostolic of Requena, Peru. Bishop de la Peña Pérez had been serving as a bishop for 22 years. Bishop Oliver Climent had been serving as Coadjutor Vicar since March, 2004.

Bishop Gerhard Schwenzer, SS.CC. retired and Bishop-elect Bernt Ivar (Markus) Eidsvig, C.R.S.A. was named Bishop of Oslo, Norway. Bishop Schwenzer had been serving as a bishop for almost 30 years.

Bishop Léon Lesambo Ndamwize retired and Bishop Philippe Nkiere Keana, C.I.C.M. was named Bishop of Inongo, Congo (Dem. Rep.). Bishop Lesambo Ndamwize had been serving as bishop for 38 years. Bishop Nkiere Keana had been serving as Bishop of Bondo since 1992.
