Bishop Michel Marie Paul Saudreau, Bishop Emeritus of Le Havre, France, has died. He was 79 years old and had served as a priest for 54 years and as a bishop for 32 years. May he rest in peace.
Ruiz Arenas named P.C. for Latin America Vice President
Archbishop José Octavio Ruiz Arenas was named Vice President of the Pontifical Commission for Latin America. He had been serving as Archbishop of Villavicencio, Colombia.
Pöllitzer named Keetmanshoop Bishop
Bishop-elect Phillip Pöllitzer, O.M.I. was named Bishop of Keetmanshoop, Namibia. The diocese had been vacant since the death of Bishop Anthony Chiminello, O.S.F.S. in November 2002.
