Bishop-elect Arulappan Amalraj was named Bishop of Ootacamund, India. The diocese had been vacant since now-Archbishop Antony Anandarayar was named Archbishop of Pondicherry and Cuddalore in June 2004.

Bishop Mykhajlo Sabryha, C.SS.R., Bishop of Ternopil-Zboriv (Ukrainian), Ukraine, has died. He served as a bishop for 19 years and a priest for 32 years. May he rest in peace.
