Banach named Hungary Nuncio

Archbishop Michael Wallace Banach was named Apostolic Nuncio to Hungary.

The post had been vacant since the retirement of Archbishop Michael August Blume, S.V.D. in December 2021.

Archbishop Banach had been serving as Apostolic Nuncio to Sénégal, Apostolic Nuncio to Cape Verde, Apostolic Nuncio to Guinea-Bissau, and Apostolic Nuncio to Mauritania.

Montemayor named Congo (Dem. Rep.) Nuncio

Archbishop Luis Mariano Montemayor was named Apostolic Nuncio to Congo, Democratic Republic of.

The post had been vacant since Archbishop Adolfo Tito Yllana was named Apostolic Nuncio to Australia in February 2015.

Archbishop Montemayor had been serving as Apostolic Nuncio to Sénégal, Apostolic Nuncio to Cape Verde, Apostolic Nuncio to Guinea-Bissau, and Apostolic Delegate to Mauritania.

New Cardinals - with their titles

There are 15 new Cardinals that are eligible to vote when a Conclave is needed:
An additional 5 Cardinals are over the age of 80 and thus would not be eligible to vote:
Note that Cardinal Pimiento Rodriguez was not able to attend the ceremony.

Consistory to Create New Cardinals, 2015 (now with Names!)

The consistory had been announced on 11 Dec 2014 to be held on 14 Feb 2015. This will be the second consistory to create new cardinals by Pope Francis. The following will be added to the College of Cardinals at that time: 15 Cardinal Electors:
