Cardinals!!!

This morning Pope Benedict XVI announced that a consistory to create new cardinals will be held on 24 March 2006. The list below are the 15 newly designated future cardinals:

Zawistowski retired as Łomża Auxiliary

Bishop Tadeusz Józef Zawistowski retired as Auxiliary Bishop of Łomża, Poland. He has served as a bishop for 32 years and as a priest for 50 years.

Saint-Antoine retired as Montréal Auxiliary

Bishop Jude Saint-Antoine retired as Auxiliary Bishop of Montréal, Québec, Canada. He has served as a bishop for 24 years and as a priest for 49 years.

Mol Guimarães and Pena Vitral named Belo Horizonte Auxiliaries

Bishop-elect Joaquim Giovanni Mol Guimarães and Bishop-elect Aloísio Jorge Pena Vitral were named Auxiliary Bishops of Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil and titular bishops of Galtelli and Thubursicum-Bure, respectively. Both bishop-elects have been serving as priests of the same archdiocese.

Hundt named Toronto Auxiliary

Bishop-elect Peter Joseph Hundt was named Auxiliary Bishop of Toronto, Ontario, Canada and titular bishop of Tarasa in Byzacena. Bishop-elect Hundt has been serving as a priest of the diocese of Hamilton.

Gazaille and Gendrom named Montréal Auxiliaries

Bishop-elect André Gazaille and Bishop-elect Lionel Gendrom, P.S.S. were named Auxiliary Bishops of Montréal, Québec, Canada and titular bishops of Vaga and Tagase, respectively.

Bronakowski named Łomża Auxiliary

Bishop-elect Tadeusz Bronakowski was named Auxiliary Bishop of Łomża, Poland and titular bishop of Tigisi in Mauretania. He has been serving as a priest of the same diocese.

Scharl named Wien {Vienna} Auxiliary

Bishop-elect Franz Scharl was named Auxiliary Bishop of Wien {Vienna}, Austria and also titular bishop of Ierafi. He has been serving as a priest of the same archdiocese.
