Bishop Michael Kalu Ukpong was named Bishop of Umuahia, Nigeria.
The diocese had been vacant since then-Bishop Lucius Iwejuru Ugorji was named Archbishop of Owerri in March 2022.
Bishop Ukpong had been serving as Auxiliary Bishop of the same diocese.
